Professional Profile
Michael Giudice is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at York University, Member of the Graduate Faculty, Osgoode Hall Law School, and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Philosophy at McMaster University. He earned his BA (Hons) in Philosophy and Law and Society at the University of New Brunswick, and completed his MA and PhD in Philosophy under the supervision of Prof. Wil Waluchow at McMaster University. He was also a Visiting Student in Analytic Legal Philosophy and a Commonwealth Scholar at the University of Oxford.
His main areas of teaching and research are legal philosophy, including topics such as the nature of law, legal systems, international law, constitutional law, and punishment and responsibility, and associated areas in moral and political philosophy. He has published several articles in legal philosophy in journals such as the Canadian Journal of Law and Jurisprudence, Ratio Juris, and Law and Philosophy, and his book (with Keith Culver), Legality's Borders: An Essay in General Jurisprudence (Oxford University Press), will be published in March 2010.
As an Adjunct Member of the McMaster Department of Philosophy, Professor Giudice is available to serve on MA and PhD supervisory committees at McMaster.
